Review

The race is on a paved bike trail that is shaded by trees for most of the course. Water/Gatorade stops up and down the course. Best time of year to run this race in Florida. I've set two PRs on this course.

Race Tips

It is a flat course with a minimal uphill/downhill at the turn around point. I only really noticed it on the last turn around. Smaller race with the ability to bring your own nutrition fueling options. Spread of food options after but for a full meal you will probably need to head back to Gainesville.

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Enough porta potties at the start and a set on the course in case you need to use them. I would stay in Gainesville (more hotel & food options) and drive the 30 minutes out to the Hawthorne trailhead start. You can arrive 45 min before the race and be good to go. Plenty of parking thats close by or a short walk.
