Although the course has a significant downhill grade, it starts at a very high elevation which can adversely affect finishing times for those not sufficiently acclimated to elevation.
If your quads and lungs survive, the course can be very fast.

First several miles felt like I was holding back, conserving energy for later miles but the splits were still coming back pretty fast due to the nice downhill grade.
