Although the course is extremely downhill and potentially can be very fast (net drop of 4.700 feet), the high course elevation may adversely affect some runners - especially those not acclimated to the altitude.
**Weather data is from the finish line. Temperatures will be much cooler (15-25° F cooler) at the start and gets warmer as runners travel down the mountain.

It was one of -if not the best marathon I have ever ran. Snow cap mountain road race. At the end free video/photos of your run. The race end was in a wonderful little town 26.2 below. Really organized.
Race Tips
Be early for shuttle buses and check to make sure you are on the right bus. Either marathon or half marathon
Beautiful downhill course. I thought it would be a great first timers course but it is a little rough on the quads. I have recommended this race to quite a few people.
Race Tips
Carry water initially if you can, but have something you don't mind getting rid of. During the first 7 miles or so, the downhill is severe enough that stopping for water takes energy. I brought a sweatshirt and pants to the start and was thrilled, it was freezing at the top (10K feet)
